What Is Complex Care?
Complex care refers to the level of care required by those with specific medical conditions or illnesses. Our specialist personalised care services involve additional expertise or specialist equipment. Conditions that call for specialist homecare support can include neuromuscular disorders, spinal injuries, cancer and more.
We believe that spending time with loved ones is important, which is why we provide complex care from respite or regular visits, through to 24-hour homecare. By working closely with our Clients and their loved ones, we help those with specialist needs to continue living in the comfort of their own home, surrounded by people whom they trust.

Frequently Asked Questions
What health conditions can you support?
We can provide care for a range of conditions including MND, MS, stroke, brain and spinal injuries, cancer, Parkinson’s, and more. The best thing to do is get in touch with your local office to find out what type of support they can provide.
Do I need a nurse or a Carer for complex needs?
Many Clients are supported by trained Carers under the supervision of a Registered Manager. If nurse-led or clinical care is required, we will arrange for clinical input.
Can complex care be delivered at home?
Yes. Complex care is often delivered safely and effectively in the Client’s own home, with proper training, equipment, and oversight.
How is complex care funded?
We understand that funding complex care can feel overwhelming — but there are several options available, and we’re here to help you navigate them. Depending on your circumstances and the level of support required, you may be eligible for:
Local Authority Funding: Your local council may contribute towards the cost of your care following a financial assessment. They will also carry out a care needs assessment to determine whether you qualify for support. If eligible, they may offer direct payments so you can choose your own provider, such as Right at Home.
NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC): If you have ongoing, significant health needs, you may be entitled to full funding through NHS Continuing Healthcare. This is a package of care arranged and funded entirely by the NHS, provided outside of hospital settings — including in your own home. Eligibility is assessed by a local NHS team based on the complexity and nature of your condition.
Personal Health Budgets: For those receiving NHS Continuing Healthcare, a Personal Health Budget allows you more control over how your care is arranged and delivered. This means you can choose a care provider that best meets your needs, offering a more personalised experience.
Private (Self-Funded) Care: If you are not eligible for public funding, or you wish to top up existing support, you may choose to fund care privately. Our team can provide transparent information about costs and help you design a plan that works for your budget and care requirements.
Our experienced team can guide you through the funding process, explain what support may be available in your area, and connect you with local professionals who can assist with assessments and applications. Contact your local Right at Home office for friendly, no-obligation advice.
How much does complex care cost?
Costs vary depending on your location, care needs, and frequency of visits. We offer free assessments to help provide a personalised quote. Get in touch with your local Right at Home office and one of our friendly team will be more than happy to help.
